About Riley Nyberg, MS, LPC-Associate
Riley Nyberg is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate in the state of Texas and is under the supervision of Megan Krizan, M.Ed., LPC-S, RPT-S at Nova Cesta Counseling. She graduated with a M.S. in Counseling from Southern Methodist University in 2022.
Prior to becoming a mental health professional, Riley worked for Southern Methodist University as a financial aid advisor where she helped students and their families fund their college educations. Riley specializes in a wide range of age groups, including adolescents, teens, and adults, and has worked with these populations in various capacities for over five years. Riley completed multiple counseling internships that exposed her to a variety of experiences and clients. Riley fulfilled internships at Changes McKinney as well as the SMU Center for Family Counseling at their Dallas, Frisco ISD, and Plano ISD locations. Riley’s areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, self harm, suicidal ideation, sexuality, coping skills, self esteem, and life transitions.
Riley works to create a safe place for clients to explore patterns and behaviors and to promote health and balance. Riley believes that counseling is a gift that you can give yourself to help you to be more engaged in your life. Riley believes that everyone’s life experience is unique, and by developing a genuine connection with her clients, she is able to customize her approach to each individual client. She looks forward to being a part of your journey of growth and wellness.
Riley grew up in the North Dallas area and is passionate about serving the community that she calls home. Riley is recently married and has a dog and a cat that she loves dearly. She enjoys live music, gardening, traveling, and spending time with her loved ones.
